Being jobless, which job should I do in the lockdown days?
Being unemployed during this lockdown is definitely difficult. But, at the same time, finding a job that too giving an option to work from home is going to be equally difficult in these times as movement is completely restricted.
Being unemployed during this lockdown is definitely difficult. But, at the same time, finding a job that too giving an option to work from home is going to be equally difficult in these times as movement is completely restricted. Therefore, you will have no means to apply for a new job and join, as there are always some formalities which needs to be done physically when you join a new firm.
I would suggest few of the below items for you to do during the lockdown which may not provide you an output immediately but will prepare you for the future when things get back to normal :
- Learn a new skill : You can utilize this time to learn a new skill which is relevant in the market. If you are in IT, you can learn Python, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, JavaScript, AngularJS etc. Otherwise you can work your communication skills, confidence, presentation. These learning would not help you immediately, but would prepare you for the future when the lockdown is over. You will be better positioned to find a new job or you will have better chances of cracking an interview.
- Write a blog : If you are good at writing, you can start writing blogs and if you get a good fan following you can start earning a few extra bucks through adverts. But this again will not give you the results immediately. Effort and time are required to achieve this.
- Start a youtube channel : You can start a youtube channel and showcase your talent in any area. You only need a Camera (decent phone camera would do to start with) and a laptop for some editing purposes. As everyone is under lockdown, many are glued to their phones these days and consuming record breaking online data. You can use this opportunity to gain subscribers
- Start selling essentials : As people are struggling to get essentials in these challenging times, you can start selling them locally and online. Amazon, Flipkart have stopped all other non-essential deliveries but are still delivering the essentials.
I know we are facing difficult times and we have limited resources to do something new. But, where there is will, there is way.
